I'm reading reports of OFAC and OFAB, however, thinking its NA, I thought it would be OFAC, but then I hear of people converting their XR3i's to OFAC...so I'm a bit miffed what actually came on these cars...

Thanks for any help guys...im sure its an obvious answer but I'd like to be sure...as I know I will ultimately be throwing lots of turbo parts at it to liven it up at some point, but wondered if its going to be as simple as I think (rods, pistons, inlet manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo, actuator, pipe work, etc) or is the ECU side going to cause complications

Cheers!
If it's a full XR3i EFi conversion you "should" have a 1AFA. You won't have OFAB or OFAC if it's NA, it would run like a bag of crap.

For a quick fix turbo conversion you want a Fiesta RS Turbo engine and an OFAC ECU. Forget throwing rods and pistons at the XR3i engine. This is plug and play with the addition of a MAP sensor wire. Using OFAC, the engine can be modified to be good for up to 195BHP. I pretty much run this at 10PSi and mine makes 162BHP.

Have a good look at my sticky at the top of this room, it goes in to great detail on this conversion.
