Yes, you have spent 2k on the car, but sometimes you just have to have to cut your losses and get rid.
If it helps i sold a very tidy subaru impreza uk300 as it was not very economical, went out and bought an audi a3 diesel
130tdi sport quattro.
It was the biggest mistake i have ever made, 5 mins into driving it home from buying it i hated it, one thing after another went wrong and it cost me over £1800 in 18 months to keep it going, then dmf started to rattle so i fucked it off.
With buying the car and the repairs i would have been better off keeping the impreza and poor fuel economy.
What did i do? Got a £10k loan, put £5k of my own cash in and bought a 62 plate focus st estate. Its costing me £200 a month for the loan, but the car was 2.5 years old, and had 20k miles on it when i bought it.
And it does not much better mpg than the impreza but im over giving a toss about mpg and just buy something worth driving.

solid advise there fastlife
there comes a time when you have to cut your losses and move on.
I don't knock you for attempting to repair things yourself but as loads have already said you just don't take the advise given so what's the point in asking ??
For example if someone asked me what size cable they should use to wire there electric cooker and I advised them to use 6mm and they kept asking if they could get away with using 2.5mm tied together with a bit of 1.5mm and so on in the hope it won't burn the house down..... are getting the picture here???? Lots of people on here with years of experience on here you could learn a lot if you just listen !!
