100% it is a combination of the piston rings and also that they are just an absolute bag of shit ! Spent the last 20 years in independant garages speialising in Vauxhall and I dont think they made an engine worth owning since the XE/LET... I would go as far as to say I believe Vauxhall are nearly as crap as renault or peugeot now !
