New Noisy tappets,am I using the correct oil???
I bought my saph as a non running project,I did get it started before handing over money and I can't remember the tappets being noisy.
After an 8 month period where the car was not started or turned over I got it running and quickly noticed the engine was a bit noisy on tick over and when revving.
So I thought easy fix,new ina tappets from msd.
Soaked them for a few days in oil then fitted them,started the car up and held it at 2000 rpm for ten mins.
Still ticking.......seems to be noisy all over the cam cover but worse at cylinder 4 exhaust tappets.
Only other thing that's changed is when it was serviced I had ford fill it with fuchs Titan pro 10/50 oil,could thus be too thin?
I know a lot of people are using it and think its great but I'm not sure it's agreeing with my car.
I'll need to check what was in it before to compare.
Any advice would be great.
