Hi
Thank you for the reply, this sort of info is really hard to get hold of.
I bought a 'special force sniper' box that connects to the ECU via the OBD port that fits all Fords from 96 - 06 with an EEC V in (to program out PATS, EGR etc). It wont work on the ST170 and manufacturers say the 4 digit code on my ECU isnt a true EEC V.
It also wont work on my 98 Lincoln MK VIII (mustang 4.6 'intech' EEC V) either because it is running a skinny loom without the SCIL (Pats box).
This is their answer :-

"Ahh, that explains it. Our software does not support a 3NFA calibration. Even though the pcm may be the shell of a EEC-V, the circuitry inside is not. The file in that pcm is 1472kb whereas EEC-V files are 225kb."
I only have their word that they are telling the truth.
Kind Regards
Kevin
