Default My new sapp..making a start on a make over

I purchased my sapp 10 days ago now, got a shopping list ready of little jobs I wanted sorting out so made a start today.Buckle up here we go again.

Rev counter wasn't working, I had a spare set of clocks so we swapped a few bits over and I now have a rev counter that works, this was the first job today.

Secondly I wanted the aftermarked Kenwood cd player out of the car and refit the original Ford unit which came with the car. The Kenwood didn't work anyway, so binned this.Looked at all the wiring, beleive it or not none of the plugs had been cut and all the original wiring was all intact including the amp the head unit cable, it was all nicely tucked away. So connected it all up and hey presto we had the Ford unit working, I was so pleased all the wiring was uncut, makes things a lot easier then.

Drivers front electic window is a bit noisy, stripped the door card off, greased it all but still the same so gonna replace the window motor.

Removed and cleaned the idle speed control valve as it was a little sticky now and again, better now though.

Finally I found out that the rad fans were not working, so I thought I need this sorting urgently. Purchased a new fan switch, tried it, still no good. Checked all the wiring and bridge out the fans, fans kicked in nicely. Traced it back to a faulty fan relay, luckily my mate had one spare out of his RS500, tried that and all good fans now working perfectly. Then I found that the fan switch plug was cable tied on, somebody had damaged this at some point. So cable tied it on for now, new plug will be on order soon.

Faulty fan relay

That's all for today.
