These days I have the agreed value classic car Insurance which restricts me to 3000 miles per year which is fine.

I hear where you're both coming from with salt and the alike. I would still use mine in the winter but it would always get cleaned before I put it away again.
I use my van as a daily and have no 'need' for a car, the saff is just a nice to have.
Can't imagine what 450bhp would be like, mine is all over the place in the wet and it is standard!
