If it is true then they probably don't want it to go somewhere else as they want it done by someone they trust will do a good job and won't exagerate the bill/do a few customer bonuses while engine is apart and fudge the bill to cover.
I can appreciate that but I'm stuck without a car in the meantime. They may not want to pay more than they have to buy if I have to hire a car while I wait I end up well out of pocket.
