You have assumed correctly!

I had this on my old ERST, caused a poor idle amongst other things.

On mine, the plastic sleeves that hold the injector down had gone brittle and started breaking up. But also the retaining clamps had rusted and broken. I just bought a new set of sleeves, o-rings and retainers and it was right as rain.

Can't find the sleeves on thebay, but they can be seen in this pic with the yellowish plastic:



Very simple to replace, I think the injector even stayed on the pipe.
