Just been doing a bit of work under the bonnet on my Escort Cosworth. Put everything back together, but as soon as I turn the ignition on the temperature gauge goes straight up to the red, with the car not even running!!

Is it possible I have dislodged something when putting it back together? I had most of the front right side of the engine bay in bits, possibly dislodged a sensor when putting the boost hose from intercooler to inlet manifold back on????

Where exactly is the temp sensor for the temp guage on the Escort???
