when I first did these kits in 2013 my mate bought a diff £80 ,then bought a kit of me £495 changed oil say £30 total £605 ,bolted it in his 520 bhp steve scott engine saff ,and drives it a lot with no mechanical sympathy and hasent broken the diff or cover in over 2 yrs ,I think its just the look of the draw if you get a good or bad diff ,and a good or badly cast cover .I know the diffs have gone up now but at £200 /£250 for diff and a kit still £495 you can have one in your car for under £800 ,and out of the prob 60/70 kits sold it has only been a few that have broken the cover I think
