Hi all,
I'm running a 58 reg Focus 1.8TDci.
Never bee quite sure about my ABS on this car???
I've looked online and on here but not found an answer...
The brakes themselves are fine and work well, but if you need them in an emergency and stamp on them, instead of the usual pedal feedback, you get a sort of funny noise (like a motor whirring fast or gas escaping) and a sort of pathetic little vibration feedback through the pedal?
Oh yeah, and the end results is, you nearly end up in the back of something!
This may be relevant:
Sometimes, after starting the car from cold, just as I head out the end of the drive and brake lightly to look left and right, you hear the same whimpy noise (like somethings re-setting itself)? Doesn't happen every time though.
Ideas anyone?
ABS Pump?
ABS Hydraulics?
Like I say, the actual brakes work fine otherwise, even under heavy breaking, just not when you stamp on them for that all-important emergency stop!!!
Thanks in advance,
Stu
