My last engine revved to 9k but it didn't need to be driven like that. Mark would read the riot act if he read my data log & he saw I was using too many revs Mark don't like rev cuts so it was down to me to be sensible, in mine changing at 8.2k gave best progress but sometimes I used a lot more. Bit shocked to see 193mph (8.8k) in 4th on the Newbury Bypass but its recorded although it wasn't me Mark . Ive a dry sump fitted to this new engine just in case I start using all those revs again . Its not a bad thing but will shorten the life of a road engine.
