hello

i am a noob and i have brought a project maybe a huge mistake but it was cheap
i have read up on this, i have got a ford focus 2003 TDCI 1.8 2003

the turbo has gone i think but i was wanting to get some further info on repairing it

it smokes really bad white smoke i have partially stripped the top end of the engine down as the turbo sits at the back of the engine the outlet of the turbo is spitting out oil

i suspect its just an oil seal but i could be wrong what i would like to know is how do i get the turbo off can it be done from the front engine side or do i have to get underneath it to remove ?

oh and there is no play at all with the spindle as i have stuck my finger in it seems solid

i have ordered a new fuel filter new oil filter new oil engine flush before i attempt to repair the turbo

can anyone direct me or show me how to remove the turbocharger to try and repair

i might be waffling sorry but just need a few pointers

thanks

Andrew
