Sorry for late reply I been on nights. I would cut straight down the red line on your photo. That's what I did on mine but I had to cut a bigger section out due to damage and rot. Once cut out I used a joggler to joggle the cut edge to put a lip in it. Then cut the replacement panel to size so that it fits over the joggled lip and weld it up. Sorry no photos of mine .
