Just what I was thinking. Why didn't you just pull over, say hi and ask what he was doing. Why drive there, skulk around up the road and then drive home again? If he had already given you the post code so that narrowed it down to very few houses anyway so it is quite plausible that you could have found it without having the house number, which you did do. Strange behaviour!!
