I have been wanting to 'build' a track car for years now and get out there and do some track time as I live quite close to brands and Lyden hill I dont see why not!

I have been offered a v cheap T reg 1.8 petrol Focus, this seems perfect as a base to build on over time as i appreciate things dont happen over night HOWEVER it is a 5 door, is this really an issue for a track car as from what ive seen people seem to turn their noses up at 5dr cars?! (i appreciate it dosent look as good and may be slightly heavier but not by much)

Just want to get an idea of what people thought about this, shall i go for it?
