I've just received a full cv joint kit for the front shafts, I'm hoping to have them assembled soon.

Couple of quick things I'm stuck on.....

The new joints don't seem to have any way of keeping the 3 legged roller bearing secure. It's as if the boot is the only thing holding it together.

I'm guessing that the compression once the full suspension strut is in place is enough to keep it together?

Also I have some sort of cap that fits on the spring, I'm 100% certain the original did not have this, would I fit this to the spring and insert it face down inside the new joint?
