I've had a simular experience with Accralite pistons for my Zetec Turbo with Burtons.

Not being no engine expert went in there and said that I was building a 16v zetec turbo and wanted some pistons for the job, gave them the full spec etc......simple enough right

Showed me the Accralite ones and said they'll need machining to get them to the ratio I wanted 8.0:1
Okay no probs just send them to me when done and fitted to my standard zetec rods.

Recieved them in post, can see that they'd been skimmed thought right okay get it built.

Pistons in block and they finish flush with the top of the block, not seeing a zetec block made for turboing thought nothing of it.

Anyway cut a long story shorter.............

Run the engine in, driving around with 3 psi comes to the set-up day on the rollers.........
Got it set up at a bar of boost, but the tuner said the compression ratio's way to high as it wouldnt set-up properly and the power just dropped off to quick at 4.5k rpm.....he said more like 10:1 rather than 8:1

After this we decided to strip the block and have it checked and rebuilt, but before this could happen it bent a rod, ruining my whole engine near enough

Taken the damaged goods to Burtons telling them that the ratio was too high and that they'd ruined my perfectly good new engine.

They are looking into it and were supposed to be calling me back, a few weeks have passed and nothing ............... great service from a supposed good company

Gunna be right on there case this week.........
Seems as tho other people have had bad experiences with pistons for this conversion from Burtons
