Besides, there's no such thing as Vauxhall. They're General Motors engines in Opel bodies. And compared to Ford, they're a bugger to work on, tool access usually being the biggest problem. You know how you want a nut undone, and on a ford there's a hole for your socket to go through - vauxhall don't do that.

Having said that, I absolutely loved my Cavvie SRi. 130mph, how much fun do you want for £200 out of the Exchange & Mart? Of course, i had to put up with the Escort brigade who would brag of their 75mph in second gear. But i never found it to be slow, and funnilly enough, it never broke down either. Except for the fuel pump. The fuel injection system was simple and reliable. Maybe he has a point?

I wish i could get the same performance from my Sierra now. If i'm totally honest, it runs badly, and shows it's age horribly. But ... it's what i got, and i love it.

So cube your focus then, go and buy yourself a Vectra. And i bet it'll be silver, too. Boring.
