Default stuck for ideas

Hi all just after some peoples views and advice.

I currently own a 2002 focus st170. Im in abit of a dilema as the clutch has started slipping. Ive been quoted 750 for a new clutch and flywheel fitted by a mate. And also the tax runs out at the end of the month. This will total to over a grand needing to be spent on it and im abit unsure on if it is worth me spending this amount. The car has a fair few dinks and 102,000 miles on the clock.

On the other hand it has had a fair amount spent on it already with a years mot. Full service . 4 new tyres discs and pads all round and a full mk1 focus rs interior.

So im debating if its best to either spend the money on it,

Or maybe sell up and put the grand aswell as a little bit more money towards something else.

The cars only used at weekends so i could get a nice little mk5 zs and save a fair chunk on tax and insurance aswel as general running costs

Or get something like a ep3 ctr etc etc as i hear cost around the same to run as the 170 which is supposed to be expensive to run compared to other faster cars

Help advice and opinions are appreciated.

Thanks
