Yeah the guy I have working on the engine is a Subaru specialist the only guy I no who has messed around with hi performance engines. Ford them selfs sent me away with absolutely no info what so ever! I'm unsure where to go from here but he is almost certain there's nothing wrong with the internals of the engine as he has spinned it manually?? 30-40 times in guessing he means the crank, it starts from cold with absolutely no noise what so ever? He's the only guy within my area who has took the car on when we took the timing belt case of the belt had plenty play in it which did have us worried after checking and leaving it with him he's 100% certain that the timing is out but just can no get this info anywhere on the net about the set up off the variable timing. I'm sure he could explain what is going on better then I but he's not on a computer so where stalemate at the minute, thanks for your reply Martin I appreciate it
