Just need some advise and some help please.

I've just started to convert my MK4 Escort RST from MFI to EFI setup. I have all the parts i need including a custom made engine loom. I need to find out what's the best, clean and easiest way of removing my old MFI engine loom. It seem's that on my model car there is no separating connector for removing the MFI engine loom from the rest of the car's loom which is a bit of a pain in the arse! so what me and my mate think is the best way is to remove the whole loom from the car and me purchasing an mk4 Escort XR3i EFI loom and swapping it with the old loom so that i have no old engine loom stashed away somewhere in the engine bay. What i am asking is if anybody know's of another way to do this before i start tearing my car interior out which i'd rather not do as its gonna be a dash out jobby, Is there a way to cut out the MFI engine loom without effecting the rest of the existing loom in the car?
