the coreplugs/washer jets fill the 1.6 plug galleyways up with water and fuck the leads, burn out coilpacks/make them literaly explode in extreme instances, and the CHT sensor and wiring short out, too much resistance makes it think its red hot and not let it run
have a look at that first, currosion or harness or broken/disconected plug on CTS between no.2/3 cyls
