Speed sensor on my efi xr3i was knackered so threw the readings out, I had a spare on an ib5 gearbox I had so used that, they screw on where the cable goes then the cable screws into the sensor you can use any that keeps the speedo cable. Cut the plug off the old one if its knackered and put the old plug on new style sensor so it still plugs into the loom.

Not sure how accurate it'll be on mfi, it was spot on with efi once it was working properly but I usually left it on the 'range' mode so I knew how many miles I had left.

I've got the original ford self test procedure document ill email you when you have it all plugged in and it'll tell you if stuff is working as it should be.
