Not quite as it's made up to be is it?

Having a few problems with critical errors,warnings and the likes in "Event Viewer"
Am trying to sort them but it seems Microsoft updates is making things worse?!
Was going to upgrade to win 8 for the measly sum of £25/£29 or what ever it is, but if they cant get win 7 working after all these years what hope do we have for win 8?
