You can certainly make them aware of a defect, or a customer service failing by one of their franchisees, but if you expect a car-maker to take up a retail complaint I think you could be disappointed.

My suggestion would be to go back to the retailer (assuming it is a Ford franchise) and ask for contact detals for the Zone Sales or Aftersales Manager. They will either give the details to you or they will refuse and then you have something else to complain to the manufacturer about their local franchised representation. 3rd option is that they might do something to correct your problem.

They occasionally take up the complaint, but probably not to the degree that the OP wants. I made a complaint 14yrs ago, I'd bought an Orion from a franchise, H reg car, 8yrs old, and was being fobbed off over the availability of a part by the dealer for warranty work. Having found out the part was available elsewhere, and getting nowhere with the dealer, I made a complaint to Ford about the dealer, and within a couple of hours the problem was sorted.
