With some wrc engines, the torque is so big and the boost drop off can be quick meaning a dyno could highlight issues and be taken to the limits and held for longer.
Anything race spec i'd have dyno'd then had a few live runs to spot any real life errors.

yes i under stand what your saying ref not wanting to blow up the motor, i have never cut corners with any of my cars /engines . i have spent thousands over the years .
i was interested to no if it was possable to do with out dyno ?
