you say HID is not a option but I have seen decent aftermaket HID kits go for £40 for the focus and a decent set of uprated bulbs can cost that much, when I had my st170 I simply fitted the uprated 100/90 bulbs which did the trick perfect and did not effect the beam spray or cause unwanted extra heat in the unit
