Default Brakes!

Hi everyone. I've converted my 2.0dohc ghia sapphire to the big boa cosworth, during the conversion I switched to non abs, as I didn't like plus it didn't work anyway.. I also fitted cosworth rear calipers wich seem to be a good job!
Now I think the master cylinder is off a 1.8cvh. The brakes are good but feel as though they are a little soft and don't have the same stopping power as before, I know the bigger engine also plays a role in this.
Front brakes are standard ghia and a hydraulic handbrake is fitted although that doesn't affect braking..
Now my question is this; are they any master cylinder upgrades that are just bolt on? Perhaps ap racing and the like??
And also what would be a good front brake upgrade? Standard cosworth or slightly bigger ap's, brembos etc, I'm not a Richie rich so bare cost in mind...
Cheers for any help guys
