Over time the sellotape had dropped off and the chip was down behind the dash. I'm sure that wasn't the way it was supposed to have been done lol
Typical bodge type of way of doing things.

It should have had a spare key put into a transponder case (Clifford accessory) which sits elsewhere behind the dashboard or similar. The alarm detects the remote start sequence, puts a signal out to the transponder box which activates and allows the transponder chip in the key to be passed, via aerial lead, to the steering barrel aerial. The car thinks that the key is in the ignition and the car is able to be started. Doing it this way allows the original factory immobiliser to be retained and the Clifford transponder box used to be around £20.
