My first Project Mk5 Zetec-S RoadRally car [Pic Heavy]
Hey guys been a signed up to this forum for a few months now and thought id share my little Fiesta Project with you all the plan was to get it prepared for Road Rally and take part once car is completed.
i bought this car last October so had the car a year this month its a slow project but have been chipping away at it for the last year, so please bare with me as i have a lot to upload
This is the car the day after i picked it up, it was a mega bargin at £400 it had no MOT and Tax and was a little rough on the ouside with the usual Mk5 rust patches but other than that a good runner on 90k.
So soon after i began the strip down
i took the headlights out as i always liked the look of the smoked ones so began my D.i.Y job
Giving them a little try on the car
Then i moved onto the interior strip
New bonnet picked up ( £20 BARGIN ) and the carpet and under floor stuff taken out.
Dam this stuff is heavy!!
New Steering Wheel purchased and puma gear knob fitted
I then started to work on plastic cover for where the Radio was.
I used part of my son's old toy garage haha!
After a little adjustment and trimming with the dremel i fitted it and gave it some carbon fibre wrap.
New Bonnet on and freestyle grill fitted.
Next up some seats and harness's, as iam on a limited budget seats were cheapys off ebay but harness's are supposed to be out date F.i.A spec out of an Impreza WRC which i got from a friend ! I think there cool even if there not haha!
A quick shot of the car outside in the winter
Then began a little Engine work replaced a few crushed vacuum pipes, strpped a few other bits and bobs, did the Cam belt and fan belt also drained all the fluids and carried out a full service. Also bought an OMP strut brace and a pair of DTM mirrors.
Then i got some old Cibie Oscar Spot Lamps from a friend made up some prototype brackets and tested them on the car.
I also got the cover's which weren't in the best of condition but gave them a rub down and a lick of paint also did the same to the spots.
Next up i had to find some metal good enough to make the brackets the spots would be fitted to i found these at a local diy shop £3 shelf brackets haha
Still loads more to come please bare with me as iam not the best at uploading stuff Haha! C&C welcome but please be gentle
HAHA
