no cannot share much light on the efi conversion except that if you go down that path you would want another sierra running the full set up so you get a complete set of all the parts needed to make it work, ecu sensors AFM wiring diagram etc,
the 32/36 DGAV is an exceptionally good carb and i think the best carb for this motor and when running correctly should perform and be very close to the same efficency as EFi. I work in a car accessories shop in nz and am still able to buy a complete gasket/seal/diaghram kit for the carb to refresh it and make sure all is sealed where it should be. you also should easily be able to buy a carb kit for that model. you can either rekit the carb yourself or should be an easy job for any mechanic.. the accelerator dia is responsible for squirting extra fuel in the carb when the throttle is applied quickly so is not your engine dieing problem. but this could still be the carb leaking in air from a damaged/missing gasket.
