This might sound stupid but the coil is sitting loosely in a chrome sleeve. I thought the coil should be earthed. If it should be, this could be a potential solution??? Or am I being stupid....
No, the coil's ground is via the ECU (Green wire), or if you are into classic cars, it's the contact breaker points.
