Hello, ive owned this car for 3 years and its been fine till about a month ago, i had just filled up the car with £30 of fuel, i got in it and started driving i got into 3rd gear then i looked in the rear view mirror and their was black smoke puffing out. just before i got the car in to a layby it cut out all lights were on the dashboard. my mates a mechanic and he looked at it and said "theirs too many electronics on this engine ill take it to ford for you". so he took it for me then he took me home. theyve had the car for about a month now. thanks to a generous friend ive been able to go shopping ect because theyve gave me a car. any way ive been dropping in every week and after they'd had it 3 days they said "oh you can pick it up its done" so i did and i said " can i take it for a test drive and a bloke came with me. Anyway he said they had put two new injectors on it and they was confident that was the problem. About 400m from the workshop it did the exact same thing. they pushed it back and i said "well put the old injectors in it hasnt done any good " i have been left with a rather large bill, i have found another garage to take another look, they are going to charge me 72 quid to plug it into a machine to diagnose the problem, but as of yet no joy to my dilemma, i have been told that it could be the injectors, fuel pump or the ecu at fault and potentially another large bill that could go into thousands. any assistance would be appreciated.
