and what's a protected circuit and what's a dropper? Is that the 24v- 12v inverter thingy?
Knowing daf I'd check lol plus if you have fitted a Sony that's more than likely a 12v! Id pull the radio and see if it is 12v if it is and you have seen it working the 24v singnal from the fuse bored will go to a voltage dropper so you can use a 12v radio. And from the top of my head it shares the same fuse as the cigar lighter
