Right people, as many people sent me messages of best wishes I thought I would update on the outcome.
Solicitor advised me to plead not guilty based on a number of technicalities. I took the decision to plead guilty, as to be fair I did do it, and submit the technicalities in mitigation.
This turned out to be a good move as the magistrates dismissed all of it.
The bench told me it was the highest speed they'd had before them
End result was a 56 day ban and 360 fine. Think I got off lightly really. And thanks to working in the same office as my girlfriend, my travel hasn't been too restricted. Now to draw a line under it and crack on with life.

Fair do's for admitting guilt, although such a short ban would never be heard of here. That'd be an easy 6-12 months here
But it is annoying the judge can dismiss any technicalities or errors on the prosecutors part. After all, you doing 130 in a 70 was a mere technicality too.
