I have been asked to look at a friends daily drive, it has a few problems !

Mondeo 2.0 LX estate y reg

The problem I am scratching my head over at the moment is all the dash board lights come on like they should at ignition but stay on unless the trip counter reset button is pressed! any ideas please? so he is driving along with this gaffer taped down!

The car runs fine though!

The only other problem is the brake light switch as failed, I don't think they are linked but I could be wrong!
