It may be ok if in 2WD form AND running mild power, as you don't have the same transmission stress etc as in 4x4 guise, so really it's no different to being in any other 2WD setup really.

OP, as I say, it would not be wise to use one in a 4x4 setup.

The blocks themselves are identical so all your internals are interchangeable. Although the 4x4 and 2WD sumps are different and oil pumps and things.

A Cosworth engine block is merely a Pinto bottom end (Barring the said strengthening on 200 blocks etc) and forged pistons etc, so in the same way, you could put Cosworth internals into a "lairy" Pinto N/A build.
