hi, firstly, i don't know the cause of these faults occuring , maybe alternator, secondly , the new gem will work ,& you can program the keys like shown in owners handbook, i changed a later generation focus gem module with lots of unlocked upgrades, i'll let you know which model no. for the later gem when i get a chance, btw it will do whatever its got unlocked programmed on it. mine was done by tezza on ffoc. my car is a 2.0 esp
