Permanent damage?
Took my car on a 200mile round trip at the weekend, and it was running very hot the whole way. I then (very stupidly) remembered on the way back that i'd left the timing fixed to 8degrees on my ECU, i changed that back to the timing map and it cooled down nicely...
Now what im concerned about is any lasting damage from it running so hot, i saw coolant temps of 106c at one point but was mostly running at 100, also the manifold and turbo were glowing red the whole time...
Ive melted some under bonnet plastics from the manifold.
Ive driven it since n it seems fine! So i guess im just worrying over nothing?
