It has a Newman Fast Road Cam with solid lifters, The block I think is standard, though looking down the spark plug holes the piston crowns have grooves in them, to my knowledge the standard zetec pistons are flat aren't they? To be safe I wouldnt push the engine past 6000rpms.

Like I say, there are two lights, next to each other, if you only have the (!) that's the low brake fluid warning and so you don't have a Parking brake (P) warning light.
If you have a look at the fluid resoviour there is actually a switch on top you can press to test the light.
