Thanks mate, gave them a crack... and got the same message that I got from the other two companies I tried above:
"The vehicle has been identified as 'SUBARU IMPREZA WRX STI TYPE UK 1994cc, 4dr Petrol Manual (02-03)' and unfortunately we are unable to offer insurance for this vehicle"
