Slight update
Ecar want £368 a month to insure me, my mum and my dad (I've been told the more drivers I put on, the better) on a pay as you go basis on a Ford Ka. I'll try it with smaller engined cars later. However for a year Ecar want £3349 but they want a deposit of over £700 then 11 monthly instalments, so it's nearly £4K.

Some companies let you fit a nanny black box to follow you around and base your insurance on your milage, times driven etc. I don't like the idea personally. I think the only way now is to look for cars in the lowest insurance group and run it for a year or two until ins is something like affordable.
Yeah I'm dead against the black box simply because I'd feel as if I'm being punished for things I haven't even done yet.

The way the ins companies have put up the price in the last couple years is ridiculious. If I had to start again I think I would get a moped for couple years until price come down as you get older
I'll have a look into that see if I cant scrape a few quid off.
Regarding the moped idea, I have considered it but would much rather a car (And so would my mum to be fair)
Not the most interesting topic in the world I admit so thanks everyone for reading and the advice.
