If i remember correctly the mk2 FRS has limited power in first 2 gears, then full power for the rest to save the gearbox.
Also has launch control as well, with clutch in and first selected it holds at 3800rpm.
That's not launch control, it's just there to stop you lunching the driveshafts on a full bore take off
My ST does it as well.
