mine is proberbly better on fuel than my transit connect and i guess if you gave it plenty of waxoil and cleaned it once aweek theres no reason why it shouldnt last you.
my 03 bmw had rotten arches
my 02 audi S3 had corrosion coming through
and theres alot of more modern cars that are the same so old fords are not really any different its how you care for it.
as chris said if you buy one and if its a gooden if you changed your mind about it a year on you wont have lost any money if you decide to sell up good ones will hold there value
