i did have it lathed and removed 10thou off it, that is barely anything, the wear from a clutch friction plate is more than that.
only one way to find out but contact looks so much better.
if it doesn't work then i'll have to save some pennies and get a new setup.
the cover hadn't done many miles to be fair, engine was on 28k and had only been changed a couple of k before i bought it.
