As plates are such an easy ticket for them, some cops will be arseholes about it.
Problem is, there is no grey area, you're either legal or you arent. It's an easy ticket for them to issue, and more tickets = more brownie points for them.
I've always said I've been to a show and forgot to put the big one back on, or, if the cars dirty, id been leaning into the engine bay, working on it, and, didn't want to lean on the big plate and break it, as the big one is so much bigger than the bumper...
