Might be hard convincing a cop or judge that a Ford Escort falls under any dispensation for Jap Imports.
And even then the rules for plate size and font are barely any different than for a normal UK car.
I cant think of too many cars where there isnt room for a full size plate whether the owner likes it or not.
And that's how the cops will see it whether the owner likes it or not.
Do what you want with the plate, but due to their automated fine and vehicle tracking systems, they go nuts over illegal plates.
