Came on to broaden my search for options as to what i can do legally, appreciate its an old fez but its still mine and im gonna loose out, best part of £1k and 3yrs of love for this motor.Not alot to most but to me it is.

As stated - you've prob got a re shell.
And you have made a song and dance about it - why is beyond me, I certainly wouldn't if I found something like this out, especially not on an internet forum and certainly not on here.
As for the last bit - if it is a ringer the strong possibility is that it ISN'T yours and is actually the property of an insurance company whether you paid for it or not.
Truth is though as its a Mk2 fiesta its unlikely to be the sort of car the police will stop to find out if its a ringer.
As for advice....
If it was me and the vin on the slam panel matched the log book I'd weld the floor up and say its had a floor repair due to rust hence no floor numbers if I ever needed to sell the car............... but now you've made it obvious the history is dubious you may struggle.
